Italy is of course, one of the ultimate culinary destinations! The food is simply perfection and it comes in so many different dishes, you quickly forget about your line – and it is totally worth it!
While in Milan, I tried some spots I would like to share with you, so here we go:
1. Eataly (Piazza XXV Aprile)
This temple of Italian food, located near the Porta Garibaldi is just paradise! Think of it as an enormous supermarket with small restaurants located on every floor and serving food, depending on the floor’s offering. I ate there on my first evening and tried an antipasti plate, paired with a glass of white wine :)
2. Obica (Via Santa Radegonda, 3)
So I have a huge obsession with Mozzarella, therefore Obica is simply the perfect place for me! This Mozzarella bar serves the typical Italian cheese it many different variations and it’s delicious. We went to the one located on the roof of the Rinascente, from where we had a great view of the Duomo. Obica was one of my favorites and I invite to to try it out :)
3. Prosciutteria (Corso Garibaldi, 55)
This little gem on the Corso Garibaldi is really a hotspot! You choose a plate size depending on your craving and then you get it with Italian cheese, dips and charcuterie. Pair it with a glass of wine and you are ready to enjoy a traditional plate in a very cozy environment.
4. Mercato Metropolitano (Via Valenza, 2)
This street food market, located in the Navigli area, in an old metro station is a place you definitely have to try out! Perfect for a laid back summer evening, spent strolling by the different food stands. We went for a heavenly pizza with straciatella cheese – it was really really good!
5. Marchesi (Via Monte Napoleone, 9)
This is one of the most iconic cafes in Milan. However this one is a new location on the chic Montenapoleone street. The interior design is very warm and exquisite – it was done by Prada. And the coffee, as well as the little pastries are to die for!
6. God Save The Food (Piazza del Carmine 1)
This cute spot on a nice and calm Piazza serves an amazing espresso with nutella, which consists in applying a lay of nutella around the inner side of the cup, which melts when you pour the coffee in – perfection!
7. Grom (Via Santa Margherita, 16)
In Italy you have to eat a gelato at least once a day! Grom is one of the classic gelaterie in Milan and it has several locations. For me, this was the best ice-cream I ate while in Milano! They offer many different flavors, which taste very fresh. My personal favorite was the raspberry one.
8. Bottega Caffe Cacao (Corso Garibaldi, 12)
This nice little cafe serves a great variety of coffees and hot chocolates. Perfect for a sightseeing break!
So these were my suggestions, please let me know if you have any recommendations :)
